Resource Sharing Working Group

Facilitating network-wide sharing of scientific resources, models, assays, data, and expertise to accelerate cancer immunoprevention research and reduce duplication across CIP-Net sites.


Mission

To promote collaborative, efficient, and reproducible cancer immunoprevention research by identifying shared needs, cataloging available resources, and facilitating access to expertise, data, SOPs, models, and institutional capabilities across the CIP-Net network.

Objectives

Cancer immunoprevention research often requires specialized animal models, humanized systems, HLA-restricted tools, custom reagents, standardized assays, and long development timelines. The Working Group helps CIP-Net sites operate as a coordinated network rather than isolated laboratories.

  • Identify resource needs and shareable assets across CIP-Net investigator sites.
  • Reduce duplicated effort by helping investigators locate existing models, SOPs, datasets, reagents, and expertise.
  • Support standardized resource categories, submission templates, and a centralized resource registry.
  • Coordinate DRCC-supported bioinformatics, statistical, and data infrastructure resources.
  • Explore responsible sharing mechanisms for resources that may require MTA, IP, IRB, or other institutional review.
  • Prepare resource-sharing updates and recommendations for CIP-Net leadership, NCI program staff, and the Annual Meeting.


Resource Categories

The Working Group organizes network resources into practical categories that can be searched, requested, and updated through the CIP-Net Intranet.

Bioinformatics

Pipelines, software, NGS analysis, statistics, and DRCC support pathways.

Mouse Models

Specialized, humanized, syngeneic, and disease-relevant prevention models.

Cell Lines

Engineered target cells, HLA-expressing lines, organoids, and tumor models.

Plasmids & Constructs

HLA constructs, vaccine templates, biological materials, and related reagents.

SOPs

Validated protocols for assays, flow cytometry, IHC, microbiome, and animal work.

Datasets

RNA-seq, scRNA-seq, spatial, microbiome, and other shareable datasets.

Core Facilities

Institutional cores, specialized equipment, NGS, imaging, and technical services.

Expertise

Technical consultation, troubleshooting, experimental design, and cross-site support.



Current Initiatives

Developing a centralized CIP-Net Intranet registry for SOPs, mouse models, plasmids, cell lines, datasets, core facilities, and institutional expertise.

Prioritizing assay SOPs and validated protocols, including immunology assays, flow cytometry, ELISpot, multiplex IHC, microbiome profiling, and animal procedures.

Connecting sites that need resources with sites that can offer animal models, technical expertise, RNA-seq datasets, NGS capabilities, or bioinformatics support.

Coordinating DRCC-supported analysis, pipeline standardization, data infrastructure, and future opportunities such as a cross-cancer single-cell sequencing atlas.

Identifying unmet needs, including specialized instrumentation, mass spectrometry, NMR, chemical synthesis, vaccine production, HLA models, plasmids, and antibody panels.

Preparing progress summaries for the CIP-Net Annual Meeting, including survey findings, resource gaps, collaborations, and future plans for network-wide sharing.
